WHO – Who are we?

We are a marine livestock importer/wholesaler located in Michigan – specializing in servicing independent PET STORES in the Midwest.

WHAT – What do we offer you?

Well let's start with an acclimation, quarantine, and handling process for livestock that exceeds MAC (Marine Aquarium Council) standards (we should know because we are the first MAC certified wholesaler in the world). That process is carried into the handling of our marine fish, our invertebrates and our coral. We also offer both cured and uncured live rock as well as many of the popular saltwater product lines such as Tropic Marin, Ocean Nutrition and CaribSea. We offer delivery to your door in either our company vehicles or by FedEx as well as airline shipouts to your local airport.

WHY – Why buy from us?

From our suppliers we want good quality, fair pricing, selection, great customer service, and a supplier who is willing to value our business. And that’s what you should expect from your suppliers. That's what we provide daily for our customers. We believe in investing our time and future into the independent pet stores and we are probably our own biggest critic. We don’t compromise on quality.

WHEN – When did we start?

A&M Aquatics originated in 1987 as a fish collection and shipping facility in the Florida Keys. We hand collected all our own fish and supplied them to many of the wholesalers of that time in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, and Europe. We then relocated it to Michigan in 1991 and have built it steadily since then into the "Best Kept Secret in Marines" in the Midwest. Having our foundation in the collection side of the business we know what it takes to collect a good fish, to ship a good fish and we are able to work closely with many of our suppliers to improve their methods. We still do much of our own collecting in Florida for Caribbean basin products and have commercial collection licenses to do so.

WHERE – Where are we?

Yes, that's right. Michigan. But believe it or not, planes fly directly into Chicago or Detroit (where we import to) from tropical locations (where fish come from). Not all of the fish have to go through Los Angeles, New York, or Miami. Nor do they have to take a 24 plus hour flight from LAX to you. (Ever have your fish still sitting in the airport at LAX the next day?) Not when we can pack them for you and get them to you quickly and safely (our normal pack time from when we start packing until you have your shipment is always less than 24 hours). Being in Michigan we can get your fish to you early in the morning.

Not a Customer?

We are pleased to offer both aquacultured and maricultured corals to our wholesale customers. Much of the aquacultured coral is grown here at our facility, with the remainder coming from other suppliers in the USA. Our maricultured corals are grown in the country of origin.

We believe that these corals are highly marketable for the retail store and look forward to expanding this product line with more SPS, LPS and soft corals.
